Analog drum synthesis has always played a central role for Vermona, demonstrated most impressively by the almost 30-year success story of DRM1, which has been in production in near-unchanged form at Vermona’s Elektroakustische Manufaktur in Erlbach, Germany since the mid-1990s.
With BASS|DRUM, Vermona has transferred the sonic foundation of DRM1’s KICK and DRUM instrument channels to eurorack format while reworking the existing circuitry in key areas to optimize it for modular systems. The result is a eurorack sound generator that clearly reveals its origins and at the same time surpasses them many times over.
The modulation possibilities of BASS|DRUM offer enormous flexibility. Many parameters, like the pitch of the oscillator, the decay time and the integrated wave shaper, can be controlled by external voltages. For example, you can create rhythmically alternating long and short or low and high kicks or tonal variations by modulating the waveform.
Use the DYNAMIC input to control the amount of force your trigger source applies to the internal circuitry of BASS|DRUM. This not only changes the volume, but also many different nuances of the sound.

In combination with other modulation sources, this spectrum can be extended infinitely. The module is also an excellent oscillator for anything beyond classic analog drum sounds.
