Promark Artist Series Jonathan Haas Timpani General Purpose Mallets. The Jonathan Haas Artist Series timpani mallets are constructed with oak handles. The series is composed of eight different models ranging from the softest JH6 used for smooth rolls to the JH7 which have a wooden head for ultra staccato play. Promark JH4 timpani mallets feature German felt parachute-style covering for the highest quality of sound. Japanese oak provides added weight without a larger diameter, which yields enhanced projection. The JH4 is a general-purpose mallet with balanced tone and articulation, making it an excellent default mallet.
