Pierre Marcel Deluxe is known for itsrich and warm sounds, targeted towards talented students and professional musicians.Eachinstrument has its own unique character. The varnish is transparent and imitates the natural process of ageing. This antique looking varnish has been perfected in the last ten years.The varnish pigments and materials are supplied by German companies.
EachPierre Marcel branded instrument is treated with the greatest care and carries the heritage of many centuries of European violin building tradition. The makers follow every instrument throughout its journey from a magnificent tree to an exquisite fine stringed instrument.
The wood used all originate from Europe and are seasoned in Belgium. The maple woods originate from Bosnia and Slovakia, cut between 2000 and 2007. The spruces are from Switzerland (2008). Tonewoods are always carefully selected and dried for a long time.
The journey starts with carefully selecting the seasoning tonewood and allowing the wood to dry naturally for at least 15 years. This gives Pierre Marcel instruments their typical rich and warm sound.
After this natural drying process, the instruments are then handcrafted by our master violin builders with great attention to detail in our ateliers. Once the core of the instrument is ready, a varnish will be applied. This original varnish recipe and application technique has been carefully guarded since the very beginning and give our instruments their signature look and feel. With over 20 years of experience, up till this day,Pierre Marcel still continues its unrelenting quest to innovate and improve its instruments offering you only the very best instruments.
