Mathias Neuner (V) – 1861, master violin, gorgeous one piece back, certified as a “Meistergeige” by the violin firm in Ebingen, Germany.
This is beautiful example of a mid 19th century German violin, is in great condition and has beautiful full and mature sound. The violin has a dark and deep almost viola like tone in the lower register, with a singing and projecting upper register. It’s setup very well and is very easy to play in any register. This violin features a one piece back of moderately flamed maple, rosewood fittings, and a very nice old growth spruce top. This would be a fantastic, instrument for an advanced student or professional player wanting a mature sounding violin.
