The Line gets its clean, balanced tone from 3Dvarius’ own ‘S’ pickup, a piezo-electric pickup using one sensor per string. A volume knob is found on the back of the instruments near the 1/4 inch output jack, which is conveniently angled to keep the cable from tugging on the violin or getting in the way.
